Fundraising Goal $35,000
The playground of a primary school is instrumental in the development of social skills, emotional regulation and physical activity for students.

Back in the winter of 2020 we started the process of planning for a new playground. Of course, as with many things, COVID halted our plans and we had to come back to it about a year later. We have 4 large pieces to the project:

  1. Tear down and replace playground equipment (completed)

  2. Create outdoor classroom spaces (in progress)

  3. Install rubberized pathways to the equipment to ensure equitable access

  4. Replace the existing turf field

In the summer of 2021, we tore down the old playground and were finally able to build the new playground in October of 2021 due to a lot of wonderful volunteers. Since then the students have been thoroughly enjoying the new equipment! We also were able to create outdoor classroom spaces that are beginning to be utilized by our teachers as well as visiting programs like the Kittery Land Trust.

The last two phases of our playground project are the rubberized pathways and turf field. We currently have about $35,000 in our playground funds. In order to do the final two pieces of the project, we need to raise approximately $35,000 more. The goal is to install the rubberized pathways this spring or early summer of 2023 and the turf field by the summer of 2024 (sooner if we can raise ALL of the funds).

Please stay tuned for fundraising opportunities and events! You can also donate right here on this page if that is easier for you!
